Can't Crack the code
« on: Feb 21, 2015, 03:57 PM »
Lake Chillisquaque keeps kick'in my butt! Can't seem to Crack the code on this lake. Driled over 40 holes today, anywhere from 12 ft. To 25 feet. Marked 1 fish that sniffed at my bait then was gone. Guess that's why it's earned it's reputation as lake no fish to me and a lot of locals!

Can't figure why some lakes get like that ,I sure don't think it is over fished ??. That lake was one of my favorits to fish 20-25 yrs ago, I would take my kids there all the time and we would do real well. Now I don't even consider going there as it seems to be a wast of time. I keep asking friends who give it a try once in a while to see if things are getting any better and they tell me it couldn't get any worse???

George, We fish this lake quite a bit  in the spring & early summer. Sometimes we strike out, others we're hitting home runs! Real nice population of crappies. I just find it frustrating through the ice. I have fished this lake at least a dozen times during the winter, one time drilling 70 plus holes, and natta. Kinda have a grudge to solve, but hate the thought of getting skunked again!

Jabbsalot, thanks for the reply, I must admit I have never fished there on open water, summer has always been ruff because of the business I am in but retirement is in my nearing future so maybe that's a lake I can take a few of the grand kids.
