Lunkers is Closed

Fyi...... Lunkers in Edwardsburg closed last June. 

I was surprised to see around 10 cars swing through the lot last Sunday.....I stopped in their lot to talk on the phone.

Don't worry....there are better bait shops around, plan ahead.

Thought I would let you know if you are not from the area.

Big auction in a few days. Investor group took it over, tried to make it a destination restaurant, and run in into the ground. Sounds pretty familiar..

Was nice at one time. Went commercial, got pricey and folded, is Cabela's very far behind?

It was a great store.....15 years ago.

Yea....me too.  Only three miles from me.  Used to have a top notch selection of rods.  Staff was great.  Prices never were.

Check out ClearH20.  Nice shop.  Best ice selection around.

frog leg lunch and the fried clams were awesome. Good walleye dinners, too. Service was always the best..

I second the comment about ClearH2O Tackle.  If they don't have it they will get it for you.  Also reliable reports, especially when it comes to ice conditions in the area.  Very rarely do I buy any outdoors gear anywhere else.

The auction was cancelled. Rumor has it that someone bought out the inventory. The auction sign is gone from the front and online the auction is listed as postponed...

Have found on many occasions that you can buy direct from the manufacturer as cheap with more selection and know it it is new instead of last years leftovers than what the "yuppie" outdoors stores offer. Prefer to buy from local shops or Mom & Pop type online stores

I don't remember if I posted this on a previous thread or not.  My kids bought me gift cards for Lunkers for many years.  I had about 140.00 dollars in gift cards when they closed down.  I know they had 2 days when you could redeem those cards.  Both days were in the same week.  I was on a cruise when they announced those 2 days and didn't know anything about it until I got home and heard about it then.  This really p&$$ed me off as I talked to someone from Lunkers and they said there was nothing I could do about it.
