Just across the border

2/10/15


I fished a lake that I have never ice fished before.  Was hoping to catch a few perch but didn't get any.  Will be back out in the morning in search of a couple perch.  Of course I would be happy if I got a dozen.  Largest crappie was just over 12 inches.  Gills were just average.  Caught them in 25 fow.  Marked quite a few fish but this is all the takers I could get.

Nice job. yesterday we went to 2 lakes and on the second lake were marking fish like crazy for the last hour. Tried a little bit of everything on them. It's been a tough bite for me lately. Glad someone got more then a few dinks.

Take what you can get, I always say. Crappies look bigger than what you measured. Good luck on the perch.

Went back out this morning for 2 1/2 hours and 40+holes later and not even a single bite decided to pack it up and go home.  At least no fish to clean.

That's how my after work farm pond has been the last couple weeks. A lot of holes with nothing to show for it. It's got 20' of water in it too
They might be right under the ice I'll try that next.
