Looking at possibly replacing my aging Artic Armor with a new Striker Hardwater coat and bibbs. I thought their site used to have a retailer search but looked and cant find it know. I thought when they came out there were some shops stocking them.

I would like to look at, try on, touch, feel etc and I like to buy local too.

Local to me would be about 1-1.5 hr drive of Ann Arbor.

Thanks
J-

Just curious because I have Artic Armor.  Did you have trouble with the lining wearing out.  I know they tell you not to let the Velcro touch the lining but of all the clothes I have ever owned I have not had that problem.  It also did not wear well on the seams.

I have the one that does NOT have the fuzzy fleecy liner just the regular liner, but yea it started to get some fuzzy spots where the velcro rubs. Never really liked the zipper on the AA, always seemed to have to fittle around to get it to work.

That said I have had real good luck with my AA suit, but it has about 300days on the ice under its belt and has seen better days. Need to replace it with something anyways might as well go with the Striker and not have to worry as much about condensation, even though in all that time I got it pretty dialed.

Thanks for the other info guys. Didnt know that Dunhams and Cabelas was carrying Striker and Sportsman Direct was the shop I could not think of for the life of me, lol.

Another dilema guys.

Hardwater or the Climate?  Price is negligible between the two so thats not a factor for me.

The one thing that is reallllly pulling me toward the Hardwater is the more durable outershell.

The one thing that is pushing me away from the Climate is that I can not find anyone who can say that the two systems are the same warmth (with the liners in the Climate) as each other. I like the extra vent on the back of the Climate coat.

Dont really need a unlined water proof coat and bibs all that much but every now and then it would be nice to have on softwater lake erie walley and perch outings.

If you fish out in the elements mostly, you want the hard water, you'll never get cold in it!!!

Go with the hardwater.  You can always take clothes off if you get too warm.

I just bought the Climate set. I wear the coat liner for my everyday jacket, still wind and water proof by its self. I think removing the liners will be nice in the fall, fishing the pier where the cold wind and the spray will soak a man to his tighty whiteys.
Even without the liners the shell still rates a #4 on the cold scale according to Striker Ice. I fished for 9 hours in 11* and 15MPH winds kneeling in the soup of the cleanouts, of my tip-up holes and never once got remotely cold.
One thing to keep in mind that hasnt really been mentioned is the bibs run crazy long. I'm 6'6" tall, bare foot, with a 38" inseam. I still had to roll up the cuff about 2".
I did allot of research before I decide on the Climate set. I chose the Climate set so I could use the $500.00 set for more then just the coldest times of year.
PM me if you have questions.

bought both coat and bibs at dunhams here in Grand Rapids, they had them at both stores, got online and found a 30% off coupon, so used it twice and got the suit for under $250 for the Heavier duty of the 2.

btw, love the suit, but needed to change my base layers a bit, I was absolutely sweating the first time as it was 300% warmer than my prior outfit.

I have the lake effect striker suit and can only wear a silks under the bibs to warm even in 5 degree weather before wind chill
