Long Island hardwater
« on: Feb 11, 2015, 04:05 PM »
Any one ever ice fish Long Island? I notice the temp will be quite cold the next few nights. I was thinking about trying forge pond, artist lake, and maybe laurel. I live in Massapequa but never thought of ice fishing the island. Any long islanders out there that has tried??

My favorite on LI is Ronkonkoma.  Reason:  WALLEYES !!!!  Check the DEC site for the Lake Ronkonkoma map....make note of the "brushpiles" that were placed there by the Army Corps of Engineers.  Fish those brushpiles for panfish and Walleyes.

Fun lake....easy access........have fun !!
