A lot of kids these days are stuck to video games and computers, parents need to pull them away and introduce them to the outdoors, fishing, and hunting.  Sadly the Pa Game Commission and Gary Alt really hurt deer hunting by killing off mass amounts of Does, adding new seasons, and selling multiple tags.  Back when I started hunting thirty years ago on a bad day you'd see ten Does, now I'm not saying you didn't see the same deer more than once but at least you were seeing deer.  Now after the Doe mascara and combining Buck and Doe seasons on a good day you might see ten deer and sadly that's becoming the norm rather than the exception.  Think of it this way, how many kids do you know that would want to sit out in the cold all day long and not even see a deer when they could sit at home on a computer and shoot something every two seconds.  What the Pa Game Commission did to the deer herd and deer hunting is a disgrace and even worse is they won't listen to the hunters' complaints which basically says they don't give a damn about anything except getting the money.  I know I'm not the only one who thinks the deer season should go back to the way it was, two weeks of Buck Season and three days of Doe Season.    Another thing to consider is to shoot at one of their ranges you need either a $30 range permit or a hunting license and the hunting license is cheaper so how many hunting licenses do you think are sold just to use the range and save some money, I bet quite a few, which hides the true number of hunting licenses which are sold to people who actually hunt.  Just another case of smoke and mirrors by the Pa Game Commission and it's propaganda.

i dont agree with the hunting statement.however i hunt sw pa in farm country.on public game co-op.we have deer everywhere down here.but there is a more balanced herd.allowing bucks to mature is a gd thing.we saw over a hundred deer on our way home yesterday from fishing.

I really cant believe that someone could be that nieve, the game commission or gary alt did not do this to population, the hunters who bought the licence and killed the deer did. Just cause they sold them don't mean you had to kill them!! I agree that the season's should never have been changed and would be nice to see them go back. The goal of a one to one ration where I live has worked wonderfully, this past season I saw 20+ buck(most shooters)and about the same amount of doe, yes in the past id see 100 deer a day but might only 2 or 3 buck a season and they were usually scrubs. Gary Alt deserves much praise for the things he did for the bear population and hunting opportunities, but he was a bear biologist and should have stayed as such!
some can, some cant, some never will!!!!

Sorry..... but to blame them for what the sportsman did is insane ::). The kids will stay interested as long as the parents keep them interested, I have a 9 yr old girl to prove it! Sits in the woods with me or fishes with me all day if we have success or not, and wakes me up next morning ready to go!! So the faults are of our own no one else ???
