have conditions improved

Have conditions improved yet for an on foot guy. I've been hoping we would get a break for the snow to compress but that hasn't been happening.

Conditions were surprisingly better than I thought where I was on north Winnisquam today. Was able to get the ATV on the ice and move around with only minimal spinning. Only had to fight with it once or twice all day. Snow was about 6-8 inches in most spots with drifts of up to a foot in places. Other spots had 6 inches of snow covering 3 inches of slush, which made for some trouble after we parked it last night. Needed some boiling water to get things thawed out, but after that we were up and running again.

On foot, didn't need snowshoes and even stayed on top of the snow in areas that had slush, so it wasn't a problem for me. That said, I hear it was worse in other areas and I wouldn't want to pull a heavy sled too far. Pulled out a half mile this morning before we got thawed out. Wasn't fun, but got the blood moving.

I am heading up to winni squam with my cousin we will be fishing it for a couple days. I have never fished it before. Any advice for where to go to find lakers or white perch would be great. Just looking to have some fun. PM's welcome

I was also out on Winnisquam and regret not bringing my atv this year. Less snow than so. nh. There were some slushy sports near some of the shoreline that could have been questionable but for all areas I fished would have been fine. Oh well.

WhereDaRainbows, look for 15-25 fow water inside of bays (small and large). Whites and lakers are pretty nomadic and usually on the move.

We found lakers anywhere from 8 to 60 feet on Saturday. Whites only showed up around 30 to 40 foot spots. Don't have any secret spots, just looked for decent structure and drop offs.
