You can keep any length, no more than 6 per day.  Table 2.

Thank you... Looking at Table 3 for Champlain. Where it has angling and ice fishing for legal methods then Table 2 only saying angling was confusing... Are gaffs legal to use?

They shouldn't be legal! Way to many people gaff fish that they just put right back down the hole! IMHO part of being a good sportsman is making sure you take care of the wildlife! Plus the fight is more exciting when you have to be diligent and thoughtful about how you pull the fish up the hole!

I don't necessarily think that they should be illegal but you are right , most fish should not be gaffed, and don't need to be, unless it is a giant that you plan to keep.

You know you can use a gaff and not harm the fish. I always use the gaff as an assist under the gills on large fish, never punctures the fish and its easier then sending my whole arm down the whole...not that I still don't do that for a few special fish ;-) Single dull gaff works great, though I agree those people who just stab into the fish is kinda dump if there releaseing them. I only use a single hook gaff not those treble contraptions.
Its all fun and games until someone loses a walleye.......

if you have to ask....probably too small to keep
Keep all the small ones and there isnt gonna be any big ones........so no b***hin' later
Go help catch all the smelt in bomo.....cause they will be gone sooner than later as they ARE NOT SPAWNING
but the memories "Oh, remember when we caught 1000 that day? Yeah , half got freezer burned at year and I used 'em for mulch....hahaha" turns to "why arent there are smelt" "stupid state"....etc.....YOU...YOU ARE THE PROBLEM......just syain

I think that the limit of trout on St. Cath should be 2. If you want to fish for big trout then that would be the place to go.  Before everyone started keeping the 5# fish, we would catch 6-7,  5-8# fish regularly. Wouldn't you know, I caught a brown over 14# and put it on the wall, now your lucky to get one over 7#.  Whether you catch 20 and keep them or catch 20 and put them back, the story is still that you caught 20.

How about the guys selling the smelt from bomo, or the perch. They say, "We only sell for gas/beer money". I have an idea, stay home, use your bait/gas money for beer and stay home. Seriously, your robbing from everyone.

I agree to an extent. Bottom line is there are lot of jobs in the Burlington area that will pay more than a cold day on the lake.  " but I'm warm with my heater and shanty" yea? I don't need 800$ worth of stuff to go to my job everyday and contribute to the community. But that doesn't stop all the cardboard donkeys from sitting at all the intersections begging.  They could easily get a job doing dishes and make a wage.....they just don't want to...

if there is a vote on this Iverson, I will second that remark. I am so sick and tired of coming to a intersection with some moron wearing a burton jacket, carhartt pants, and expensive boots and shoes, with a damn cardboard sign in there hand begging to cash from us hard working people.  and whats even worse, there staying in hotels like the one my wife runs, FOR NOTHING.  They go down to DCF and they reup them regularily.  My wife deals with these people regularly.  They go and get there food stamps and there hotel rooms, then they go pan handling and get 300 bucks a day, and yes that is proven on the amount it was on the news.  Then they just buy junk and drugs.  so we keep paying out of our tax's that just keep getting higher each year to allow this to happen. Now just to clarify, I am not talking about single mothers with two or three kids, or a family of five, Im talking about the single people, with no kids, that are doing this. the ones that just dont want to work.
What?? fish are biting, I'm gone
