Cross Creek Lake, Wash Co
« on: Jan 30, 2015, 02:42 PM »
Fished Cross Creek yesterday for a few hours in the morning before the rain chased me off the lake.  Only one other vehicle in the launch ramp parking lot when I arrived.  The ice was 5-6" of clear ice and a few inches of slush/snow on top.  Fished a few areas where I have been successful for panfish in the past, and checked areas 8-22 ft deep.  Didn't catch anything, saw only a few marks on the sonar.  Any marks I saw weren't interested in my jigs/flies/bait.  Saw a few more people fishing when I left before noon.
FYI This is a county park and is only open 8AM-5PM in the winter.  Don't be late leaving because they lock the gate.

Was there last weekend.  Caught lots of 4" bluegill and a couple crappie.  Fish were small, but bite was consistent.

How has the fishing been there through the ice the last few years?  I used to fish it after the ice thawed and did well but it never seemed to fish great through the ice.

I did pretty good on the gils last year.  Also caught a few small bass on jigs/bait.  Couldn't find any decent crappies but I know they are in there because I have caught them during the spring and summer.  Hope to try again this week in some different areas. Hardly anyone fishing during the week.
