Cochnewagon Pond in Monmouth

Hi everyone I am new to the Shanty and I am looking for some information.I love to ice fish I want to know if anyone has ever fished Cochnewagon Pond in Monmouth before and if they have caught anything? I would like to know if anyone can direct me to a good spot on the lake where I can catch Browns.

i've never fished there but there is a guy in monmouth that makes awesome traps

Hi Young gun,

I have fished Cochnewagon many many times over the years. I have caught a few browns out of there, but the fishing is generally slow for browns. Out in the 30 foot hole in the middle the pond, you can catch some REAL big white perch. I usually set a couple of traps down for perch and three for browns. I catch most of my browns right near the bottom in that deep hole. Maybe I'll see you out there sometime this winter.

yeah jack traps are the ones. especially the big bobs. They are a little big to haul around but you can sure spread them out on big water.
