New auger reports
« on: Jan 30, 2015, 08:39 PM »
I was like most before Christmas looking for a new auger. I watched videos of auger contests and checked the best gas and battery models. In the end I tuned up my 20 year old Jiffy. It is a bear, starting right away and cutting like I saw the best on the videos. I’m not sure what it weighs, but on the Smitty sled it doesn’t matter.
I was hoping to hear about some of the new models, especially batter operated. Please let us know about yours.

We let the fish go and my Dad told me I had a wish. I wished the fish would live.

I really liked the new strike master lithium. Light weight, cuts like a Lazer and no more pulling the cord on the jiffy! I'm going to go with one next year for sure.

I have the Strikemaster Solo and love it, but I'm thinking of selling it and buying the ION battery auger.  That's seems to be the wave of the future.  No gas smell, no recoil rope breaking or fouled plug.  Sounds good to me.

I got the ION 8" and love it. No problem with the battery when it's cold. Been fishing a lot from -10 to 10 degrees. Cuts like butter and still on sale at Glen's, (IceShanty Sponsor)

Your like my friend he has an old Jiffy 20 that cuts like mad. But his family bought him a new Eskimo Z71 which he loves. Thing is the Jiffy can drill just as fast if not faster.

A  buddy  of mine  recently  got  a  Strikemaster   Honda 4 -stroke,  starts   usually  1st  pull   , purrs  like  a  kitten, low  fumes, lightweight, the  flighting  is  awesome  as  I  am  a huge  fan  of  Finbore III ,   overall  first  impression  is  good,  will  seee how  she  holds  up  over  the  season.
