I read in today's Post about Mr. Henika who broke through the ice at Evergreen and basically died of hypothermia as a result. Two facts as reported jumped out. One, that the ice was 16" thick and the other that he spent 35 minutes in the water. Apparently he was on an ATV with a blade but that certainly shouldn't have busted that much ice. It's a crying shame that there was nobody near enough and capable of offering rescue help. He sounds like a very well regarded man in that community and it's a pity he lost his life that way. Any wisdom to be had from this group?
