Auger screw blades
« on: Jan 21, 2015, 06:25 PM »
Just got a new Eskimo auger in the mail........  box arrived damaged.  Two sections on the screw blades/shaft (not cutting blades) are slightly bent.

Company where I bought it may consider giving me a further discount instead of sending it back.  Should I consider this?  Or will this slight bending be cause for concern as far as performance?

Thanks for any input.

You should be able to straighten it if I am thinking correctly what you are describing, but it might bind in thicker ice if the shaft itself is out of whack!
Take your kids hunting and fishing!

.....it's not the shaft, but the "fins" attached to the shaft.  In a few spots they're bent slightly down.

What company is it ?  The shaft may be bent or other damaged. It is their responsibility to get it to you in good condition.
Send it back and they should pay for postage if they are a reputable outfit. Can't  ypu by one locally ?

Bought the Eskimo HC40 propane from Fishusa.com.    We worked things out and a new one will be here Monday.  The box was so messed up I was worried about impact damage to the power unit.  Best to send it back.  Customer service (Aaron) was very helpful and professional about the whole thing.
