Upgrade regrets
« on: Jan 22, 2015, 04:10 PM »
Which item did you use for years and feel you had to upgrade to the latest and greatest only to completely regret it! With all the gear bought and sold to keep things light and fast did you find yourself going backwards in quality and durability? I enjoy my equipment but regret selling a model 30 jiffy I redid and sold. I know it's a heavy and loud auger but sometimes I have days when I just want to relax out on the ice instead of pounding holes . Was a fun auger to rip a couple holes and hear the bark!

My Friend has a Jiffy Model 30 over 20 years old. Cut's like crazy. His family bought him a new Z71 this year and he was going to give the jiffy to a brother-in-law but his son said no I want it. I am glad his son wanted it because like I said it is a great machine.

A clam fish trap guide 2 man flip shanty. The old style with the really comfortable seats. I got sick of dragging it by myself so sold it to my friend to buy a 1 man. Tried to buy it back and he will not sell it! Big mistake selling that shanty!
