May God bless and keep you always, may your wishes all come true.
May you always do for others and let others do for you.
May you build a ladder to the stars and climb on every rung,
May your hands always be busy, may your feet always be swift.
May you have a strong foundation when the winds of changes shift.
May your heart always be joyful, may your songs always be sung.
May you stay forever young.

Most years Great Pond will have safe ice by Christmas if you avoid inlets and other hazards. If December is warmer than normal there are plenty of smaller ponds nearby that freeze earlier than Great Pond.

i'm gonna go a little off topic here, but where do you guys get on the lake? i'm only asking for access points, not honey holes. i know of the boat launch off 27, but it's always a zoo. i ventured down to bomazeen but the "no trespassing" signs scared me away, albeit the gate was open. i have heard of people getting on by bear spring camps, but that road was closed off to the public. i am on foot so i am a little limited in my travels. i live relatively close to it and have always wanted to ice fish it but can never figure out where to get on.
where there's a flag, there's a pickerel
