Petenwell or Caste Rock advice
« on: Dec 30, 2014, 09:21 AM »
Hello everyone,

Can anyone offer me some advice on where to start?  I haven’t fished Petenwell or Castel Rock lakes before and I would like to give one of them a shot before I leave Wisconsin, as I am a Soldier and will be changing duty stations in the spring.  What I really need is basic advice on an area to fish and maybe what tackle I should bring.  Really any advice would be helpful.

Isaac

Do you know if there is anywhere you can access CR in the area where the Yellow River enters the main lake?  I'd pay a campground for a place to park for the day if they are open this time of year.  Thinking about spending a day there looking for eyes next week.
I'm a man, but I can change, If I have to, I guess.

When we fish petenwell we usually stick to fishing the old river channel.

Thanks for the reply LP, I guess maybe I should have been more specific but I don't know the local names for the different areas.  What I meant was the area where the west arm of the lake meets up with the main lake in the Buckhorn Park area but along that south shore.  Didn't go this week due to the weather.  Gonna wait and go on a nice day.
