I know that lake well. I grew up with friends that owned most of the north east corner of that lake and it's where I lost my ice fishing virginity. Very good for panfish and pike. Walleyes have been introduced but no idea how they're developing there. It's a big lake so if you don't have a quad or a sled bring your walking shoes. Ice gets very good there but I haven't heard about big crowds out there yet.
Good Luck! Give us a report on ice conditions there!

I drove past last Saturday a.m. and there was one person fishing about 50yds out from the launch on the west end.  I checked and the spud went flying through with 1 blow.  I'm sure it is much better now, but not sure.

Fished it last year from the launch on the west side and worked the south side of the lake for a couple of hours. Couldn't find the gills, and when we did they were finicky. There was a boatload of guys there so that's probably why.

Thank you very much guys for the great pointers!  :) I will definitely get out there at some point and give you a report. I heard that the east side is where fishing is, but I don't think there is enough ice for a machine yet.

So I finally got out to Wabisis Lake today and I was told 5 to 6 inches of ice. There were a bunch of guys out on the ice.
We went out to Little Whitefish today and got into a good bunch of crappie and a 32" northern. On my way home is when I stopped at Wabisis and then got on the ice at Murray lake for about an hour with no bites. Murray had guys on the ice also as well as a sea plane landing on it when i pulled up. That guy in the plane is a dick! 4 to 5 inches at least there, but they were moving around a lot.
I was also told Big Crooked is good to go as well as Reeds Lake and Duncan Lake.

Good luck and tight lines!

MBS - Thank you for the report and info.  Never had much luck on Wabasis but we had the best day ever last year on BPI.  Looking forward to a report if you get out there tomorrow.  After that, it'll be too cold for a couple of days!

Good luck to all.  Bring a spud and be careful out there.

Sorry Guys I didn't get out on BPI yesterday, my buddy canceled on me at the last minute. I do have a rain check for next week sometime and I will report what I find.
Good Luck and Tight Lines!
