Curious where I can find some of those smaller green propane tanks for my Mr Heater. I live between Westport and Madison on 113. Thanks!

If your not into refilling the 1#you should look into the 4.25# sold by Home depot. I have one and really like the base profile that prevents tipping.

I bought a refill adapter from my local hardware store and it works great on the older little green tanks without green eco tabs on top. just hook up the adapter to your #20 tank and then screw your #1 tank on open valve and turn the #20 tank upside down. saves a lot of money on buying those little tanks all the time

Do you scale to make sure your full or not to full I'm interested in filling them up.  Our wally world here sells them 2 for 5 bucks

Filled my 20# and 4.25#  Cost .90 per lb, sure beats $2.50 + a lb.

TIP:when purchasing your 1# for refill be picky! make sure the threaded portion is as straight as possible.

When filling if you really need to fill it to the max make your fill with the 1# green as cold as you can get it THEN throw it back into the freezer and repeat.

As far as scaling them I don’t, if I think the 4.25# tank is low I bring a 1# along, refills usually last 4 hrs. on low.

I do have to say though that 4.25# is the ticket, not much more in weight about the same amount of space used BUT you will be running out and having to change tanks 4 times to my 1 .

Its also great in the deer blind. ;)
