One of the slowest lakes in the area to ice up this season, and with the warm weather of the next few days is only going to get worse. There might be a few spots you could get out on now, but i don't plan to be hitting scugog until the new year.

Hello ice shanty. I looked threw the site and I love it. I was out on scugog yesterday directly off the point of the island. We set up straight out from the launch about 200 meters out. 7 inches of solid ice everywhere we drilled. Managed a few nice crappies lots of small perch and a 2 pound small mouth for our efforts. It was a great first outing with lots more to come. Gonna be out again within the next few days in search for some eyes.  ;D
Sorry hun my cell phone died I didn't know how late it was!

To give everyone a heads up the causeway bait shop is under new ownership. His names Ryan. Seems like a nice Guy. Prices are still the same.  Hw says he's open 24 hours and to just ring the door bell at the store. Not too sure about his lake knowledge tho.  I called on new years day for an ice report and I little boy answered the phone and told me there was lots of ice off the tip 6 - 8 inches. I went that day only 4 - 5 so keep that in mind and be safe. I wanna get on some eyes soon.  I'm off of work due to a surgury I've had so ill be out all over different lakes . If anyone wants to meet up or tag along .... tight lines folks

Today went to check Scugog, North end and public boat ramp, saw about 10 huts outside the boat ramp. north end has 3-4 huts, 9 inches. snow machine and ATV already running around. Fish at the north end at 6ft for 2 hrs, lots of perch and gills, left at 5pm. Didn't check Goreski.

Ya I was out yesterday was out from noon to 600 ish from the end of the north ramp on the island. Lots of perch aswel.  We setup 25 yards of the left red maker. Bout 7 - 8 feet of water. My buddy lost something big at the hole didn't get to see he snapped off. I wanna try goreskis too next outing. Or try the east side of the island. Those are the only spots I've nailed some eyes. Usually hook into a ski often too. Lots of snow on the ice now I'm sure.   Good luck all motojoe we should link up to do some fishing sometime. I've got a clam Bigfoot fits 3 guys comfortably.

Hi Crazy J, Why not, I like to meet new friends, I met a guy named Bill yesterday. He was surprise I were leaving at 5pm, he said it's the time for the fish to come, I have no choice cause my friend's kid said he want to go. I will go tomorrow again for Crappie and eyes. Not sure which part yet. I will go with ATV and a Calm Nanook.
