I hate to say this but your profile says, Saratoga, NY and you say you are travelling pretty far and what are the ice conditions?  Plz check in the Conditions and Reports for NY, there has been lots of talk about Saratoga Lake the last few days.
Drive over, take your gear and spud bar, go with a friend and check it out. Even if you don't get out on the main lake, reports are in that the boat launch and fish creek is frozen and guys were out there today.

Lanzis is on sacandaga. Yes there is ice, not sure on thickness there as I haven't been in that area.

You are correct and was reading into it too much.
But still it's less than an hour away and there has been all kind of reports on the lakes ice conditions.

You didn't bother me, it's always the same on the site, sorry you just caught my unfriendly reply.
People are always asking for ice condition and where can I go ice fishing.
How long have you been ice fishing and on the site?
You have to know my now that there is tons and tons of reports and ice conditions on this site, all you need to do is look in the 2 New York topics to get info, or call a buddy, or take the drive.
There is now ice all over, go get'em, stay on top and Fish On my fellow Ice Shanty New York member.

Hey ghost. I'm going out to sand Island tomorrow and staying until Sunda. my cousin was out today and was on 5-6 inches. As far as lanzis, I'm sure there is enough to fish on but still spud your way out and check the ice every couple steps. You can never be to safe.

was out in front of there this morning 5 to 7" allot of small pressure ridges went out about 80 yards from shore

it's called the 4 walls are closing on me and it's cold as hell outside, can I go ice fishing yet?
Take a drive and take your gear, monkey see, monkey do, theirs people on the ice all over, park and talk a walk on the ice, set up and enjoy!!!!!!
