You will LOVE it! Since there is no spinning motor there is no noise (unless you want alerts) and it merely sips off the battery. Single charge will last you days!
I have a Lowrance M68 Ice Machine and its my "can't fish without it"...

I have the Lowrance M68c with the transponder....persona lly I like the scroll screen far better than the flasher, I think u see more in terms of footprint with respect to fish and structure....at least for where I fish. My unit is 3 years old...I use it all year long in the shanty and on the Kayak, which I really like as I only need one finder. Easy to use, pretty intuitive with respect to programing...

I love my Lowrance M68c! I like to chose the lower limit (custom depth setting) on my unit to exact bottom depth. This gives you the best pixel count and better target seperation.

Finish a charge and go fishin is all thats left. Recieved one of these last year and after playin around with it...man it is sweeet..i love it for the fact that you can see where you were right when the fish hit...and how you were jigging when it hit just by glancing at the trackback feature...you will love it..

Me too on the m68c
Fisherman's Prayer
I pray that I may live to fish

And when it comes to my last cast,
       I then most humbly pray:
When in the Lord's great landing net
           And peacefully asleep,
That in His mercy I be Judged
              BIG ENOUGH TO KEEP.

Had a Vex FL8 when I first started ice fishing. Real nice unit but would agree with the previous posts....no noise is a good thing!

Not sure what type of set up you have for the transducer.... Mine has the plastic bracket that holds the metal rod that holds the transducer. Initially, I liked the Vexilar system with the foam float better and considered adding a foam float; however, through the knowledge I found on Ice Shanty, guys recommended getting rid of the bracket/rod and just hang the ducer by its cord down the hole. I highly recommend doing that!
