Are there any other places in Fairbanks that sell frozen herring besides Sportsman's Warehouse?
Walmart doesn't carry it anymore.
Sentery in North Pole maybe? The one in Fairbanks doesn't.
Safeway? Fred Meyers?
Alaska Fish Processers? I know they have whitefish, never asked for herring there.
Thanks

No Herring at Sentry NP, They have NC and Shrimp. Safeway in NP I believe had herring, I did buy a whole entire box of squid for the Lakers there so if they have that you would think they'd carry Herring.
Whats wrong with the Wrhse? price? or quantity? I'll keep you informed when I find some, I had some left over from Valdez that I have soaking in SMELLY jelly. Can practically wipe fish off the grocery list.

How does the squid work on lakers?
Nothing wrong with Sportsmans except they closed at 7 tonight and don't open until 10.
I'm leaving at 7 tomorrow morning and forgot to buy more bait. We have one package of small herring and a few whitefish, so it's not like I'm out, but I'd like to have more.
Thanks

If you know someone that can shop at the commissary on the bases you might be able to pick up some. We used to buy smelt at the Eielson commissary. OOPS just read about you leaving in the morning but maybe for the future

Grant,
Call ahead, but Freddy's on Collage Rd. had them in the freezer... I picked some up from them around July timeframe. Kevin's right about the NP Safeway, but bring your $$$$$$, most expensive minnows I'd ever bought!
Jon333, No more bait at Eielson's commisary. It's pretty much a seafood desert in that place. No sqiud, no herring, no smelt, but they carry shrimp!
