Doves open tomorrow. Plenty of them around. Just never enough guys out this late season to keep them moving

You're right about the working thing. I'm not sure when I'll see 5 days off again but these are going so slow! I was hoping to be out on the ice for all of them! Here's hoping for next weekend!
There's Ice Fishing, then there's ice and fishing.

Things never seemed to be this way years back,we used to make plains to fish on the ice day after Christmas and any time after until spring I am starting to believe in Global Warming????? I see more miles traveling north in my future..

I was taken on the ice after years of asking by my buddy I 2010 I gave in and went out on 12 inches of ice on jan 3rd. now n the last for seasons I have only seen good ice in one yr. and that was last year. ad the fishing on the bigger lakes sucked. now its a waiting game again to see if we can get on. playing wit all the gear charging up batteries and hoping for ice time

do I dare get the shelter out and sled ready? I know that there is no chance till at least the 11th  and that has a lot of time to change weather wise.

Good time to seek out new opportunities.  Wife and I did a bit of research and traveling / hiking and found several smaller public "ponds" that still had some ice !!..  Supposedly, these "ponds" hold bass, perch, and crappie.  have yet to wet a line, but plan to soon..
