Cameras
« on: Dec 19, 2014, 05:06 PM »
Last year I bought my first camera. It is a cfish r1 and it has been a great camera. I love the idea of being able to pan 360 degrees in any direction and it has served me well. I feel the camera itself is high quality and gives a good picture, For the price its hard to beat.

However, I started looking into what else was out there and found you can buy the same type of camera in color. I was set to build my own with components but then came across this http://www.ebay.com/itm/HOT-20M-7-LCD-Underwater-Fishing-Video-Camera-Kit-With-Motorized-0-360-View-/141496322180
and decided to just order it.

This is my first experience with buying direct from China and having it shipped so that will be interesting. It ships direct and should be here in a week-10 days. One of our vendors is taking a group of our project managers on a guided fishing trip to Mille Lacs for 3 days in mid January so as long as it gets there by then I am good.

We will see if this thing is as good as I hope it is. The camera is the wildcard and if it doesn't impress me, I can always find a better one and will still have the case, Monitor etc.

Micro I I camera ,   25 fow.  Brush pile loaded with crappie and catfish.
Only thing I would do different is go with the dvr.  This image I took with my cell phone
Use the micro to scout mostly.

On the ice ,, ice was pretty clear only a little amount of snow on ice .
Bright day .
I've had really good luck with micro but like I said I wish I had dvr.  I was told that there's a upgrade module that can be added that allows the basic micro to record.

This is a video taken from my phone of the cfish. Those Micros only shoot in one direction. These give you the ability to rotate the camera 360 degrees in the housing which means the housing never moves so the fish go about their business without being disturbed and you don't have to mess around with the cable and can concentrate on fishing.

This is what the new camera looks like. Hard case, chinese lantern camera. color monitor. Remote control for the camera.

Purple Floyd  the Aqua Vu cameras come with a mount/bracket that lets you view up 45 deg or down 45 deg  and points in between as well as horizontal and down viewing granted its not motorized ...but the cfish is only horizontal .

How do you do that while jigging?

On the Micro its pretty simple

I also seen a thread that members suggested adding a clip on weight to the bottom ...this helps keep the camera in position and also helps "steer" the camera better.

I use the plastic fin and add the weight it helps get camera down faster  through the ice ,on the micro

I have yet to get mine out ...lack of ice
Does the camera tend to spin awfully bad? is it difficult to position the camera relative to your jig when in the horizontal or 45 deg position ...twisting/spinning  ?  How are you holding/supporting the cable to stay in the position you want it to...bracket...holder etc?
