My little guy of 11 years figured out that earthworms and crawlers freeze great. A fall warm rainy night produced more crawlers than we could ever use trout fishing. His idea to try freezing them for winter is working out great. We just break off whatever size piece we need and voila. No difference at all in bites compared to live. He did same with waxies from his "farm" except he salted them heavy to dry and toughen them. Spectacular results - far better than live waxies because they are so tough. He froze everything in day use amounts so we just grab a pack out of the bin before we go
