In making my Smitty sled I chose to only do 2x4's. So it will put my sled up about 4 inches off the fresh fallen snow. I also did all of it in stainless steel so I could take it from tub to tub if I wear another one out. I did 3/8's eyebolt and put 2x4 blocks behind the one's in the tub. I did stainless still pin bolts instead of leaving them in the 2x4 that goes across. I put them through the 2x4 that is mounted on the ski and put the head between the wood and the ski. I used flush heads. I did 2 inch stainless steel screws 4 in each piece of wood on the ski's and they mounted flush to the bottom of the ski's. This is a newer tub than I have had before and once I put the rib protector's on it, it seemed to drag even more. With building the Smitty sled like I did I'll be able to take it apart and store it in the tub for the summer. Yes with this big tub you just about have to have a 4-wheeler. This is the biggest and deepest tub on the market. I always pull with a 4-wheeler. I love it because it has a bench seat. That is always comfortable. I was into the stainless steel for this project for about $100 but I wanted it to last. If you have any questions feel free to ask. Oh yeah one more thing I put a ring hitch on the back to pull your sleigh out. Come on ice!!!
