Mix ratio for Strikemaster Auger?
« on: Jan 06, 2015, 07:59 AM »
Hey, I have a Strikemaster mag 2000 2 Horse Power auger. My Dad got it used somewhere, and I would guess its roughly 8-10 years old. It is a Tecumseh T C 1 1 and calls for a 24:1 ratio (says this on the power head). Sometimes it doesn't run the greatest at this ratio so I have tried 30:1 and 40:1. what would you guys try? thanks in advance

40:1 is fine for that. Almost all the auger Brand name oils (Jiffy, Eskimo, etc) are synthetic with stabilizer, if that's what you'll be using.

Use amsoil professional saber at a 100/1 if not comfortable mix it at manufactures recommendations I have 2 jiffys from the early 90s and outboard motors they have all been mixed at 100/1 and I still use all with no problems. No kidding  !!!
