Have used these on open water. They work. But i think they may be to big for hard water. Although on any given day, anything can happen.

Yeah thats the only thing i thought too was the size. Thought about cutting most of body off and using mostly the tail. Have heard of guys having really good luck with them.

Fish don't move as quick in the winter, and the size might be a factor, I'm sure in the summer they would work fine.  Throw a bobber out in the summer and a fish will race 10' or more to investigate, in winter they are more lethargic!

Their 2 and 2 1/2" jigs are good for trout and or Lake Trout. I agree if you want to go after pan fish you need something a lot smaller.
