Lowrance HDS-7 touch for snowmobile
« on: Nov 25, 2014, 07:11 PM »
I'm looking at getting a Lowrance HDS-7 touch for my snowmobile this year,  mainly for GPS and map charting on Lake Erie. I did notice that the manual said it's operating temperature goes down to 5°f. With the temperatures last year I know this will not do.  But I was wondering if anyone has tried the touch screens in the negative degree temperatures and if the unit still worked?

I ran my HDS7 touch on my quad all last year, and did not have any issues with it. I fish tournaments and have been in negative numbers with no problems.

Anyone used the Insight Genesis software for ice fishing?
