Has anyone tried this? My Shappell 1.5 is feeling it's age and I wondered if this would be a good fix. It's fine for snow but rainy days on the ice I have the drips.

Not understanding what you are doing, are you going to thin the silicon out with the thinner and try to paint it on?

Why not just buy some cans of spray silicone and spray it on.

I was watching a hunting show and Bob Foulkrod actually mixes a tube of clear silicone with odorless paint thinner and brushes it on his pop up hunting blinds. I wondered if any of you had tried this. He claims it seals the blind better than any sprays  and works great. I googled it and it is on a few DIY videos for tent seams. I wonder if the aqua seal I use on my neoprene waders is basically the same mixture in a tube. I've used camp dry and it's an ongoing application where this is more one and done in theory.

Sounds interesting......I have seen bees wax, turpinine and linseed oil mixed together as a waterproofer.
