First Ice 2014/15
« on: Nov 20, 2014, 12:02 PM »
  ::)  Looks as if all the north country ponds are frozen?   Less than an inch in most places but complete cover with three more night of below freezing to come!    Its a good early start if warming on Sunday and Monday don't take much of it away?
Sleet forecast for Saturday night should freeze in place for a little junk ice?
Can't trust the weather man but it looks as if we will be on ice by the end of the first week of December.  Just to be safe I'm going to eat only fruit and veggies until Thanksgiving!

Good Luck!

I know we can't trust the weather man, but Monday looks gnarly for ice up your way. If it does take a beating, how do you think the projected post-Thanksgiving snow will affect things?

Sorry for the non-positive vibes, but I have already scheduled some early December days off to come up north, so I'm not ALL doom and gloom.

??? ???You won't find me on the ice next week but I'm pretty confident about the first week of Dec.
Lots of lake effect snow in NY but I don't see it getting to NH?   But, I know even less than the weather man??

The 45+ degree weather coming up will likely melt the ponds quite a bit, since most of the ponds are not really locked up anyway. Moosehead has ice, while Winni's water temp is still 42, but we're getting closer to 32!!!!  ;D I think we will have ice by the second week of December, only because I don't know how long this polar vortex trend will stay around for. Hopefully longer  ;)
