Skim Ice

I know this doesn't mean much but on my way home form hunting today some of the small farm ponds were skimmed over. It's a start I guess, had me fairly excited.

I saw the same thing around my house.  Hopefully the cold temps will stay with us and if they do I think we might be able to get out on the smaller ponds as early as black Friday.

The duck pond down from my house was over 1/2 frozen this morning and the small stream in front of the house also has ice on it, only problem, lots of wind today.

some local ponds and lots of puddles were locked up yesterday .  The back coves of the lakes are forming ice, but the wind needs to die down!!  I drove by Hamilton, Hills Creek, and Hammond yesterday and all were rolling pretty good.  At least this weather will have the water temps ready to go as soon as the wind dies down.  We will officially start checking ice conditions right around the first week of December.
