Hey Metalfish.....I was thinking the other day you would kick things off! We're having a great summer too,  but I'm looking forward to some cold weather. Bring it on.

Hey folks,

I've been thinking about the hard water season too. I hope we have as good ice this winter as we did last. I'm scouring the classifieds every day for a heater for my shanty. I have a nice 15K BTU kerosene but its a monstrosity, I also have an old 70's Coleman 5K BTU white gas and that's just insufficient to say the least. I'm looking to do some overnights on Mash this winter if anyone is interested. I have the itch for some ice.

regards

If I was going to stay over night I'd consider a Buddy heater because of the low O2 auto-shut off feature.  If you don't like the Buddy Heaters, I'd definitely get a battery operated CO detector just to be safe.

Fall bow hunting season starting it's a sure sign the horrible summer season is coming to an end.   I can't complain about this past summer, it was not that bad heat wise compared to the past, seems like it's going out with a roar though.

Thanks Chris,

I have been steering away from the buddy heaters solely due to price however I'm sure nobody wants to find my dead carcass on the ice when they come by to see if I'm catching anything in my shanty.

Regards
