Well I must be odd, I have a Ion and use a 6" auger and have no problems, actually was concerned until I fished for a while.

The only thing that can be a pain is holes freezing but the difference between hole sizes in effecting that, gets down to minutes so that really evaporates in real world fishing.

Besides you need something to do if they are not biting, and if they are the holes stay open, right?

And I have never thought " I wish i had a bigger hole".

I like cats I just can't eat a whole one!

Here is the answer all you ladies arguing about an 8 or 10" hole. Do you wear skirts while ice fishing? Here is a mans auger:
Quote- fishslap: I use a variety:  whistlin' bungholes, spleen splitters, whisker biscuits, honkey lighters, hoosker doos, hoosker don'ts, cherry bombs, nipsy daisers, with or without the scooter stick, or one single whistlin' kitty chaser

THAT my friend is an auger ;) ;) ;) I like a 10" if I have a choice, pike is my main target and you never know what might hit your bait. Gotta be prepared.
