wow!  MarCum created an entry level/ basic package new for '06, the VX-1.  from one of their distributor's sites I see that they offer a $50 manufacturer rebate through December 31st!     The unit starts at $249, then drops below 2 bills to $199 with the rebate! 

This is a very tempting unit but I just bought the lx3tc upgrade (an outbound gift) and lx5(me)!

I got my Marcum VX-1 2 weeks ago and I've had a couple chances to use it and I just love it. It's so awesome to see the fish come and smack your lure!

What does everybody transport their VX-1 in?  Doesn't really fit in a bucket. Marcum, that i can find, does not offer a case.

I tried searching for softpacks and couldn't come up with any but I would call MarCum Customer Service or Fishing Pro Store and see if they have any spare LX-2 or VXR extra shuttle bags...  Maybe you'll get lucky and they have a padded LX-3 or LX-5 bag that they can set you up with...  Good luck...
