Well we( Stealth, Butch2, Bigbry and DLR83) ventured out for Crappie yesterday afternoon to Webster Lake but no success . We slammed yellow perch 26 up to 1.2 pounds, All nice fish

I couldn't believe it, none of them Had any worms. Wow.
Well we'll try again next week for the Crappie. I think we were to shallow.

A few of the perch i have kept did have worms in them. It oddly seemed like it was only the males who had them.
Just add water.

SHaRPs,
Did the big one we kept last week have any worms in it? I forgot to ask about that.

icetilt,

It had 1 worm all the way neer the tail. Pretty clean if you ask me. One of the ones i kept 2 weeks ago must have had around 20 ! I still picked them all out with the tip of my fillet knife and had him for dinner!!! Wont waste what I harvested.
Just add water.

Strange you say that. All we caught were females

  • Just a kid until the end.
It was a great time catching up with the jumbo perch.

Some of the perch had alewives in their mouths.

The perch just seemed to keep piling up on the ice.

Looks like jigging saved the day.
