Ice is long gone in my neck of the woods.....

I should have posted this bit earlier.  Ice Shanty is a great site with a great bunch of
guys sharing their passion for ice feeshin'.  During the season, I visit the site daily and seldom
come away without some new idea, technique, or new area to try.  Good luck on soft water this
spring & summer. I fish out of an OT Vapor camou yak, an od Old Town Camper  canoe, or a 10 horse Tohatsu pushing a poorly camoued low 16 footer. I also infest most central Indiana creeks and streams.
Tip a hat if you pass by

hello, this is my only post of the year, I've been a member for some time, used to post some but kinda gave it up, so I guess I'm a lurker, still, I want to thank everyone for all the tips & info. I really enjoy icefishing & meeting new friends when I go, after seeing all the nice pics on here, I realize I'm just an mediocre fisherman,but love it anyway! everyone have a great and safe softwater season!!

For the most part, I agree.  Those who post are awesome people willing to help out others.  Those who lurk and show up because i accidentally put some background in my photo suck.  They are the ones who make people tight lipped on this great site.

I only fish a handful of lakes in northern part of the state, more often than not, I'm the only one on the lake. I enjoy figuring out a lake that most consider worthless. In my opinion, the ones that have to try to find a lake using a picture or beg for the location, probably aren't going to find the fish anyway or get them to bite. in all honesty, don't it feel kinda good to be pulling in one after another while others watch and cant figure it out? some as close as ten feet away!

I've figured out many lakes and have helped out a lot of people. Sooner or later it will bite back and it has happened to everyone. I don't post locations anymore just because of this reason. When people ask me questions (through pm's) I have no problems helping them out with color, technique or structure to look for on said body of water. I do my homework all year long, not just during ice sseason. 2+2 will always equal 4

I totally agree! the point of my post was the great feeling you get when you do your own homework and it really pays off, I still have so much to learn, but would help out anyone if I can
