Cuba lake
« on: Jan 28, 2014, 07:38 AM »
Has anyone been down to Cuba this past weekend? I'm contemplating heading down this weekend probably Sunday, was wondering if the pike, crappie, and walleye bite is/has turned on yet. Also I'm heading in from springville and was wondering if there were any bait shops on the way down, I know there's buckwheat's on rt. 16 in arcade but that's kinda going up and around for me. Thanks

If you are coming down rt. 16 there is a shop just south of Franklinville, Ischua bait.  Not sure what they have in the winter.  I would call first.

I heard slow bite on Cuba but worth a try in my eyes.  As for bait Buckwheats is going to be the best, only open till five during the week and Saturday, closed Sunday so you may want to make a run up there before if you go Sunday.

I head through West valley and go up over Felton hill and head straight into FranklinVille, cuts down on the drive time. But I'm glad we do have a bait shop relatively close, I was just wondering if there was any thing down by the lake.

Went out this afternoon with the east wind howling. Though not big, my son loves catching walleye.

Even my son couldn't stretch this fish legal

Tourney is March 8th. I was thinking about coming out there on Sunday. How has this rain and warm up been to the shore by the Dam?  Anyone else gonna fish Cuba Sunday? Some of us were suppose to leave for Oneida early Sat. morning but with the winds and slop out that way we bailed out on that idea.
