Has anyone ice fished it?

I have. Rode my snowmobile to it.  It's a long walk if u don't have a snowmobile.

the road is closed to it?  How about the smaller pond off deckertown top of mountain?  I used to trout fish it

I have not tried to ice fish the one on Deckertown but tried several times spring/summer/fall without too much luck over the last few years

used to bring the fly rod to the one on deckertown in late may.  did pretty good with an elk hair caddis
funny we are discussing this because I wrote a list of places to fish the hardwater this winter and thats on the list.  Im going to hit it up after all this chaos calms down

Sawmill lake is in High Point State Park Sussex Co off Rt 23 going North first left after Visitor center.
Has anyone ever iced fished at Lake Rutherford also off 23 behind visitor center not sure if private or legal to fish there.

Yes they close the gates every winter... Foot or snowmobile access only

Go in through the other side off of Libertyville too, not sure if they close that side but it is a further trek.
