Meredith Bay/Leavitt Park
« on: Feb 16, 2014, 07:02 PM »
Just bought a place in Warren and very interested in fishing either Meredith Bay or Leavitt as they are  closest to Warren. I'm not new to ice fishing; I fish Lake George religiously in NY using my trusty Vexilair as my guide. Any newcomer tips anyone could offer would be appreciated. Plan to fish it last week of Feb. My preference is  lakers and crappies. Thanks

Lakers are good on Leavitt but crappie are not so good there. Meredith bay is a crap shoot. I am anchored at Leavitt presently. Look for 25 - 40 ' .Been seeing lots of school of smelts lately with Lakers hot on their tail.

Good deal. Thanks for the tip. Sounds familiar. I'll be giving it a whirl.

What's the preferred method for the Lakers.....Jigging or Tips? I'm good with either strategy.

On the big lakes like Winni in NH, you can use one of each. ;)
Not sure of the legal definition, but it amounts to two fishing devices unless you're fishing for cusk also.
Than you can add 6 cusk lines.

I jigged a 6 pounder last Thursday on Lake George doing the same thing.  Sounds like the same technique. I appreciate the feedback.

Last question: where to park for Leavitt?
