Ice south of Worcester
« on: Dec 27, 2016, 08:36 AM »
Hey Guys,

I'm planning on meeting up with my brother while he's in CT for New Year's. We're trying to find a place that's about halfway between Hartford and the South Shore to hit on NYE. It looks like the Douglas/Webster area is a good halfway point (I know some good spots in RI but that's too far for him to go).

We're not looking for spots/secrets, just some fishable ice that has good access. Feel free to reply back to this or send me a PM!

I'll be checking Webster in the morning and hoping to fish if this rain hasn't mucked up the ice too much. Oxford area has a few good spots too that I know are safe. Fingers crossed that I don't drive the hour and half back to my hometown of Dudley and find the ice not fishable  ??? Tight lines guys

Yes I'm with you on the rain. I'm hoping to get out in Rhode Island tomorrow on a spot that has 4-5". Thanks for the reply back, hope your scouting pays off!

Just got word from two fellow fishermen that Webster lake  shorelines are completely shot. 20 ft gap of water and thin ice going out to the harder stuff. With that report I'm really on the fence about making the trip to area to fish tmrw. Websters a big lake but that can't be a good sign for the smaller ponds in the area either  :-\

How's everything holding up out there? We're still hoping to get out on Saturday.

as the weather pounds down on us, cant see any positive signs for the ice right now
Someone told me ice fishing was too good to be true. I said, what's the catch?

Are any of the small ponds surviving at least?
