What does everyone prefer for crappie thro late winter Ice?
Emeralds, fat heads, Rosie's, or spikes/mousies
Type of rig with fav bait and why

I use tip ups and size 12 trebles with fatheads about 2 feet off bottom. That works best for me.

I jig for them but I have caught all my crappie this year on tip ups using a small or medium shiner about 2 ft up.

Tip Downs with Rosies or Crappie Minnow. An assortment of plastics from a Mustache Worm, Ratso, B-Y Baits MudBug and MayFly. Spikes or Wax Worm on occasion.

I usually invite the crappie up on the ice when I am making eggs, bacon or sausage and taters, they really seem happy to have breakfast with us....
