Rico,  I grew up in Marion from '75 to '86 then moved to Warsaw.  Anyway, in my teens I used to fish 2 ponds just to one side of the dam.  Both ponds had very good fish.  One pond sat down in a pocket mostly surrounded by trees...tough to fish from the bank.  The other was surrounded by thick brush, briars and cattails with a farm near by.  Which one is Simpson pond and is their still good fish there?  Wouldn't mind checking it out again someday.  Thanks!

HEY BRET I AM A TRANSPLANT DOWN HERE...I GREW UP IN PIERCETON!!!!  SIMPSON POND IS WHAT THE LOCALS REFER TO IT AS.  IT IS ACTUALLY A 25 ACRE LAKE WITH SOME SORT OF INDIAN NAME(WA-SHIN-GA, I THINK????).  IT IS LOCATED ON HUNTINGTON RESERVOIR PROPERTY(SOUTH OF THE RESERVOIR).  I HAVE BEEN FISHING IT FOR A FEW YEARS NOW AND IT HAS HIGH QUALITY GILL,REDEAR, AND WHITE CRAPPIE IN IT.  HOWEVER, THE BITE ALWAYS SEEMS TO BE SLOW FOR ME AND MY BUDDIES THAT FISH IT.  I NORMALLY JUST FISH IT AFTER WORK FOR A FEW HOURS AND SAVE THE WEEK ENDS FOR BETTER SPOTS.  BUT IF YOU HIT IT AT THE RIGHT TIME IT IS COMMON TO CATCH 9" GILL, 11"REDEAR, AND 14"+ CRAPPIE.  IT ONLY GETS BANK FISHED IN THE SUMMER(YOU CANT DRIVE BACK TO IT), BUT IT GETS THE HELL FISHED OUT OF IT IN THE WINTER.  I EVEN SEEN THE "PIMPLE" THERE ONE TIME!!!!!!!!!!

I was wondering if you could help since I've only been to Huntington twice with the boat.  Is that the small pond just off of 200?  Do you park on the side of the road to get access or am I thinking of the wrong place.  I'm from Muncie and wouldn't mind giving it a try if the ice holds out.

I went to WI for Christmas wto visit my parents and a guy came off the WI river with three 14-15 inch crappies.  I could kick myself for not getting a picture of them before he took off.   Nice fatties.

Thanks for the info on Simpson; haven't been out there this year.  Has anyone checked it out, after the rain yesterday?   I'd like to get on somewhere Saturday.  Be Safe.
