East Canyon or Lost Creek
« on: Jan 29, 2014, 10:25 PM »
Trying to decide where to go this weekend.  I've been to east once this year and didn't catch much.  I've never tried lost creek.

Does anyone have a preference? if so why?  Any tips you'd like to share would be appreciated.

I was thinking about trying the south end of East Canyon has anyone had success on that end?  I usually fish to the north of the dam.

Me and fishonone will be at lost creek friday and can give a fresh report. From what i heard east canyon was hit pretty hard at the trifishalon. I myself have had better luck at lost for fish over 12/14in. I also heard a nice size cut was pulled out last weekend in the 25-27in range

Will you be using an OHV to gain access to Lost Creek?  I ask because several years ago we had just unloaded a snowmobile in the ramp lot when two Utah DWR CO's drove up and told us if we put it right back on the trailer they wouldn't issue us a citation for illegal use of an OHV there.  I'm waiting for an answer from the DWR to see if that is still the official policy of the DWR to issue citations to OHV users at Lost Creek.  I also asked them by what authority do they have the right to issue citations on a federally owned property.  When I get an answer back from them I'll post it.

I can neither confirm or deny our mode of transportation at this lake  ;)2  but from what it looks like is they gave you guys a bad rap that year cause there is well beat-in trails all over that ice from sleds and 4 wheeled machines and not one ticket that I've heard of has been issued. I look forward to seeing what kind of answer they give you bob, if any   ???

Not to butt in here, but I live right in Morgan and have fished Lost Creek probably 15 times this year. The DNR has been up there at least 5 of the times and there was at least ten sleds and 4-wheelers out there. You dudes will be fine.
