Centennial lake in ellicot city....NO ICE FISHING!!!! who knew? nothing online saying no, no signs?...nothing... 5 1/2 in of ice. So close to the house its too good to be true! Warden kicked me out but at least I got 3 species in before then.  No tiger musky tho

Not surprised,  but kudos for trying.  I live close to some decent "NO" ice also.

I agree.  I think it's BS that you can't ice fish Loch Raven, Prettyboy or Liberty also.

Fished Belle Grove this afternoon, few bites but no fish. However, I did talk to a warden there that said that the local lakes that weren't posted otherwise were open to fishing....meaning centennial, elkhorn, Waterford, etc.....a follow up call is expected just for confirmation, but until then I think ill try the tiger musky in centennial lake again. Anybody else live close to here wanna get in on this?   I got kicked off of centennial by a park ranger, (without a gun...lol), so I guess next time ill have to raise the bar and question his authority.....I mean no signs? nothing online? why not?......I think its time for the ice men to take a stand!!!  after all....its safe water....and.....my money was good for the whole year right??

I'd be interested in what you find out. I've done some great soft water crappie fishing there. My first ice fishing was in Wilde Lake when I was a kid in the 70's. Back then ice skating was a regular winter community activity but at some point they started prohibited people from going on the ice due to liability issues but to be honest, I never specifically checked Centennial.  Have got kicked off Piney Run Reservoir and Liberty though. Annoying. Was hoping to catch a striper through the ice

Anyone remember "feeding the fish" at Loch Raven.....I did it, my kids did it, however my grandkids cannot, because of liability!! Sucks...and this was after they upgraded the feeding site at the dam.

Fed those fish as a kid!!  Years later I would take my girlfriend, now my wife there to catch carp.  It was how I taught her to fight big fish!  That was 20 years ago. Don't go there much anymore....too much bullcrap regs.  BTW I get thrown off local "public" water quite regularly.  I'll ask forgiveness once....however not good to meet the same police officer twice!!!  So many small ponds with good fish in them but all the locals think your going to die.  They have little clue to our past time.

I still haven't heard from the warden that said he would let me know about centennial, elkhorn, and Waterford. Its been a week so I guess hes not gonna call. Bummer.   Guess its back to the original plan, fish till I get kicked out.
