Instead of fishing any of the local tourneys I decided to hit the ice with my Son. His goal this afternoon was to catch his first toothy critter on a tip-up. We dragged our gear out and got the shanty set up to realize we were in the wrong spot. Once Waxie and fasttime came out with the gps we moved and found a few fish. Then he caught some bait for the tip-ups and as last time it was within 10 minutes before the first flag was up. The first was a miss and it wasn't another ten minutes before the next. That one also got away. Then finally we had our third flag that my son finally had one hooked. He had it all the way to the hole before it took a run and cut the leader. I saw it before it got off and it would have been one to brag about! And then we had one last flag that also was a blank. Better luck next time. Fasttime caught a pike so my son wanted a pic with it. All together it was a great evening. And thanks to Fishking83 for the pike addiction! Lol!!

Thats cool, i have young ones myself. Make sure uou get some of those pics in the kid contest. Nice job getting some fishing time with your son.

Thats awesome! I would rather watch my son catch fish than catch them myself. Get him hooked up to a steelhead this spring and he will be addicted to them too!

Was thinking I would meet you at the tourney yesterday, but it looks like you had 10x more fun! Used to love ice fishing with my dad at that age! Hopefully you can get him that toothy critter soon!!

I had a blast fishing with him yesterday! He made my day when he looked at me and said he was glad he came out to fish with dad! We'll run into each other one of these days.
