I live about 5 miles from Shakamak and was planning on going out there today to give it a try, but after checking our pond I didn't even bother. The lakes did have about 4 more inches of ice than our pond did, but I'd say the edges are still shot. It was 66 here yesterday evening and blowing like crazy. I drug that Christmas tree onto the pond Monday evening, now the ice is toast.

Check my posting of the ice at Shakamak on Terra Haute Ice.  It's too long to retype again.  I got home from there yesterday after 4 days of fishing down there.  Hope it helps.

got off the ice tonight 5-6 inches average. edges were fine and fishing was great!!! stripperpit out near Green Sullivan. it is true that a lot of the lakes have crappy edges but there's still a few that are completely frozen. a buddy and I caught 85 and had 40 keepers in the 9 to 11 inch range.
