Cabelas???
« on: Dec 22, 2013, 07:26 PM »
How is the ice fishing selection at Cabelas? I might head down to the one in PA latter in the week? I'm not looking for flashers or augers just tackle. If there store selection is anything like their online one I might just pass out by the door.  :o :o

I have been to about 15 while traveling around the country. All of them seem to be a little different. Other than the ones out west most seem to keep the fishing department well stocked.

I was there and they have a decent selection of augers and shelters.  They're somewhat limited on rods, jigs, and lines but then again I was looking for specific things.  If you're not very picky you'll find lots of stuff.  I was looking for Marmooskas - none, Hali jigs - limited, 100 yard spools of Darcon - none, and a medium 28 inch rod none that I liked.  Over all I would say it would be worth the ride for you.

The one in East Hartford CT has a VERY good selection of Ice Fishing gear. They probably have 18 flasher units on demo and 10 shelters assembled on the floor. Plus whatever you could possibly think you would need for ice fishing.

Personally, I go somewhere else because they sponsor this site for my state.
