round lake off clear lake

anyone been there? we hammered the crappie there in fall. was wanting to hit it on the ice since we did so good. i bet we caught 500 of them in the 12" range in november. you guys think they would move out to the big lake or stay in round?

was out there saturday it was little slow had to move alot  i hope you did not keep that many  limit is 25  a piece  or had big boat lol

Hopefully it was with a partner and at a minimum of 10 trips if you kept 500 crappies over 12".

you would have to catch 15 crappies per day for the whole month of november to accomplish that or 60 crappies every weekend for the whole month and they are all 12 inches yeah i did the math i doubt it sorry if you disagree but you probably caught 200 or so but not all 12 inchers

No  we marked them just were not biting

Aa small as round is it still can be feast or famine. Really hit them one night one summer.  My nephew and I had one on as soon as we dropped the bait right over the side of the boat under the lantern. Caught our limits of healthy 11 inchers. Came back the next night and couldn't find 'em.

i have found clear lk in general to be feast and famine taxi. mostly famine for me though. id love to poke at round on the ice but never have. just boat fished that side of the lake. dont know where i would park in winter. i like the west side of round. found some deeper weeds out from shore there. hung the lantern over the side and waited.

Yeah Clear can be that way too. What's fun is watching fish in your shanty under the ice due to the clarity of the water. Watched some pods of large gill come through on round but couldn't get them to bite unless we put slosh in our holes or at dusk. They seemed skittish and knew somthing wasn't right above them. Used to be parking just past the bridge on the southwest corner. Don't know about now.
