One thing I will add.  When going near the shore or anywhere near cattails, you better be on the throttle as this is where most of the slush is.  As well, if you have a 2 stroke, 2 inch paddle tracks aren't recommended.  Sleds get hot in the bush trails due to no snow hitting your radiators which 2 inch tracks don't help.  Be VERYYYYY watchful of your heat guage when going through the bush.  That should be your biggest worry.  Backbays and shorelines are bad for slush as they accumulate the most snow.  I pulled the sleigh behind my 600 with a 1 and a half inch track.  Sled is in perfect condition with reference to the engine.  My heat guage was slightly below hot when I got to the end of each of the portages.

Just got home from a trip up to deschaumbault. We stayed at deschaumbault lake resort. Half the price of bloomfields and better service. Warm cabins. No running water but tough to expect that in winter. We wanted to fish at willow. Stopped and talked to the fellow at bloomfields and were treated poorly when we asked about fishing conditions and so on. We drove down to the water to try get on the lake and he had plowed snow blocking the access point! We ended up going to limestone. Caught alot of small skinny pike, one large pike and some real healthy walleye. All in all a real fun trip. Glad we stayed at DLR after the treatment we received at bloomfields.

I would stay at DLR if it was twice the price.

Bloomfields is gross.  A 8 year old could keep it more sanitary

All that aside any recent fishing reports. We are heading up on Sunday for 6 days.

Pretty tough going if you don't have a sled. There is a good layer of slush between the snow and the ice. Saw one guy try I his truck, froze it up and pulle one of the front axles apart.

Fishing was decent bit not as good as past years from what I understand.

Ton's of snow in the area, long track deep in bush, Spent the day shoveling 48 inches of frozen ice-snow off of Cabin roof at Lower Fishing. Was going to drop down into Summit to try for eyes but was too bagged after all the shoveling and came home for a beer. I can not see driving anywhere if not on plowed trail. Be safe travel in numbers.

No trucks just sleds.  Never had problems on deshambault just concerned about the bush trail? Hate to go all that way and get stopped by a big trees across the trail. I can stay home and drink  ;) or at least just go to Tobin!

Take a small chainsaw.  No worries.  You would crush them at the mouth of the oskikibuk river anyhow I bet
